The Mini Dachshund - the small dog breed with a big character

The Dachshund look - the international symbol for "Give me some of your food" or "It wasn't me!" - has its name for a reason. Anyone who has ever looked into the deep brown, round eyes of a Dachshund knows: The name says it all.

In the past and today, popular for hunting in forests and meadows, the Mini Dachshund is also gaining attention as a family dog. What to expect if you're considering enriching your family with a Mini Dachshund, you'll find out here.

Character and Nature

The history of the Mini Dachshund goes far back in time - it has always been anything but a lap dog with its role in hunting and is rather a confident lone ranger in the woods. It is characterized by its very self-assured, stubborn nature and would prefer to make every decision on its own.

While it is primarily friendly, it generally meets strangers with a healthy dose of skepticism. Once you have won the heart of the Mini Dachshund, it is easy to train and is a cuddly, lovable companion.

Training and Care

To ensure your little four-legged friend becomes a loyal, balanced companion, consistent training from →puppy age is important. The innate hunting instinct should not be overlooked, as the long nose of the Mini Dachshund will always lead it along any path - always ready to sniff out prey. With proper training - starting from puppy age - the short-legged furball is also suitable as a beginner dog. With its lovable yet stubborn nature, the Mini Dachshund makes a perfect family dog.

Due to its size, both apartment and house living are possible. With its great endurance and love for nature, daily walks with ample exercise are important. Stairs should not be accessible in the house or should be blocked with a gate, as climbing stairs is anything but healthy for the long back of a Mini Dachshund. Jumping from high bed edges should also be avoided - for this purpose, small ramps are perfect.

Our Mini Line: Perfect for little gourmets

Specifically for →Dachshund nutrition, we offer products that are optimally tailored to the special needs of this breed – including selected highlights from our →Mini Line. Doesn't taste good? Not possible! Small and toy dog breeds have very special demands when it comes to eating: A small jaw that really enjoys chewing on small food pieces. Their energy requirements are relatively higher than those of large dogs, which is why exact portion sizes are even more important. And they are of course little gourmets! With our Mini Line, we not only meet the specific health requirements of small dogs but also ensure that every meal is a delight.

Carefully selected raw materials of the best quality combined with a fluffy, loose consistency, a special recipe, and a pleasant smell ensure a particularly high acceptance of our Mini wet food - even among picky little four-legged friends!

Our Mini dry food also impresses with its special recipe and high-quality raw materials. The extra small kibbles finally allow our smallest customers to truly enjoy dry food and provide an even better feeding experience with maximum enjoyment.

The practical sizes are also impressive: Our 100g can contains the perfect amount for small dog breeds, so no large can needs to be stored in the fridge for days. Our Mini dry food comes in practical, smaller bags than usual - for more freshness in the bowl.
