We appeal to the Federal Ministry of Justice to review the existing animal protection laws for their effectiveness and to adjust them in case of inadequacy or to expand them with an additional poison bait paragraph. Furthermore, we demand a review of the existing capacities on the part of the authorities to ensure that reported poison bait attacks can actually be pursued.
"Animal abusers set cat on fire alive", "Dog dies after poison bait attack in Nordhausen". Hardly a day goes by without such shocking news. Above all, the laying of so-called poison baits is rapidly increasing. Currently, there are over 240 active poison bait warnings in Germany alone. Whether sausages with rat poison, or treats with razor blades - the imagination of animal haters knows hardly any limits when it comes to causing the most miserable end possible for four-legged friends. The suffering for animals and their owners is immeasurable. Consequences for the perpetrators? Practically: none.
At Pets Deli, we demand stronger prosecution of animal haters who knowingly and actively cause the agonizing death of other people's pets. This requires a societal debate and a stronger will from the authorities to combat this injustice. That's why we are launching the campaign "My Pet is not a Thing."
We want to encourage rethinking with our campaign and protect our four-legged friends in the long term. Our goal is to collect at least 50,000 Signatures and for that, we need your support. Are you in?
