Diet Change
Gradually accustom to the new food
For a seamless transition, we recommend a period of 6-10 days, possibly over a longer period if the animal is sensitive and/or difficult to switch to a new food.
At the start of the transition, mix a very small portion (1/4 max.) of the new food into the usual food and increase the amount in small steps every day until eventually completely switched over to the new food.
A slow/proper transition to a new diet is important so that the animal's digestive enzymes and gut flora can gradually adapt to the new food, preventing digestive problems (soft stool, diarrhea) from occurring.
A slow and proper transition of food should always be carried out, even when switching within a product category (wet food, dry food, fresh menus).
