For a hassle-free transition, we recommend a period of 6-10 days, possibly over a longer period if the animal is sensitive and/or difficult to switch to a new feed.
At the beginning of the transition, mix a very small portion (max 1/4) of the new food with the usual food and gradually increase the amount each day, until eventually completely switched to the new food.
A slow/proper transition to new food is important so that the pet's digestive enzymes and gut flora can gradually adjust to the new diet, preventing digestive issues (soft stools, diarrhea) from occurring.
