Gradually accustom to the new food
For a smooth transition, we recommend a period of 6-10 days, possibly over a longer period if the animal is sensitive and/or difficult to switch to a new feed.
At the start of the transition, mix a very small portion (1/4 max.) of the new food into the usual food and gradually increase the amount every day until you have completely switched to the new food.
A slow/proper transition to new food is important so that the animal's digestive enzymes and intestinal flora can gradually adjust to the new diet, preventing digestive problems (soft stool, diarrhea) from occurring.
A slow/proper transition of food should always be carried out, even when switching within a product category (wet food, dry food, fresh menus).
