Gradually accustom to the new feed
For a smooth transition, we recommend a period of 6-10 days, possibly over a longer period if the animal is sensitive and/or difficult to switch to a new feed.
At the beginning of the transition, mix a very small portion (max 1/4) of the new food into the usual food and gradually increase the amount every day, until eventually completely switched to the new food.
A slow/proper transition to a new diet is important so that the pet's digestive enzymes and gut flora can gradually adjust to the new food, preventing digestive issues (soft stool, diarrhea) from occurring.
