Do you want to switch from your current food to a new one? You shouldn't do this overnight, but rather →gradually get your dog used to it. This way, you prevent overwhelming the digestion and prevent diarrhea and stomach pain. This guide will help you:
Day 0: Order New Food in Time
Typically, a food transition takes 10-14 days. If your old food is slowly running out, you can already order the new variety. It's important that you have enough of the old food so that you can carry out the food transition comfortably over several days. So don't wait too long!

Days 1-3: Add 25% New Food
In the first three days, you can replace about 25% of your dog's daily ration with the new food. Pay attention to the →feeding recommendations on the respective packaging of the food varieties. Especially if you want to switch from one type of food, such as from dry to wet food, it's important to coordinate the daily needs of both types!

Days 4-7: Add 50% New Food
Has your dog tolerated the food transition well so far? No diarrhea, no →flatulence, everything tip-top? Great! Then from day 4 to day 7, the daily ration can consist of 50% old food and 50% new food. Please pay attention to the recommended feeding amounts of both types again!
Days 8 to 10: Add 75% New Food
Does your dog still enjoy it and the stools look good? Then from day 8 to day 10, you can give about 75% of the new food. The rest of the daily ration is covered by the old food.
If your dog develops digestive problems such as noticeably excessive flatulence, stomach rumbling, or soft stools, or if they are scratching, licking, or restless, be sure to contact your veterinarian. Perhaps →your four-legged friend doesn't tolerate the new food well. In this case, you should have the variety checked by a professional.
