As a companion and pet dog, the Bichon Frisé was particularly popular among noble ladies in France during the 15th and 16th centuries. Their →snow-white fur was lovingly adorned with colorful ribbons by them. The targeted breeding of these fluffy four-legged friends began after World War I.
