Character and Nature
The Papillon dog breed is a true character in a small body. They are socially compatible and also loving family dogs. In a multi-dog household, their self-confidence often makes them the boss despite their small size. However, they would never contest the first place with their owner. Therefore, they are among the suitable beginner dogs among the →small dog breeds.
They love their people and want their loving companionship and guidance, seek closeness, and want to be part of the action. The clever little dogs also enjoy rounds through nature and parks, but cuddles and quiet time are also welcome.
Training and Care
The undemanding Papillon is happy wherever its person is. It can be kept in even the smallest city apartment - a few rounds in the park and some mental stimulation and the friendly dog is satisfied and balanced. However, its [→coat care](/magazin/hunde/hunde-gesundheit/fellwechsel-fellpflege-fellgesundheit-beim-hund) is somewhat more elaborate. Its name Papillon, translated: butterfly, comes from its ear fur, which resembles the shape of butterfly wings.
Due to their social character, they are the optimal companion and family dogs. Whether it's Sunday ice cream or at the playground - the Papillon is always there. It is also a loyal and loving friend for seniors or singles. Due to its clinginess, leaving it alone can be somewhat challenging. With patience and training, a few hours should not be a problem.
A clever head like a Papillon naturally needs a →consistent training. Due to its friendly nature, this is often overlooked. But if the owner remains steadfast, it is teachable and obediently follows.
Our Mini Line: Perfect for Little Gourmets
With a maximum shoulder height of 30 cm, the Papillon is still considered one of the smaller dog breeds. Our →Mini Line optimally caters to the needs of small four-legged friends. Not tasty? Not possible! Small and toy breeds have very special demands when it comes to food: A small jaw that only really enjoys chewing small food pieces. The energy requirement is relatively higher than that of large dogs - precise portion sizes are therefore even more important. And they are, of course, little gourmets! With our Mini Line, we not only meet the specific health requirements of small dogs for their food but also ensure that our smallest customers enjoy it very much.
The practical sizes are also impressive: Our 100g can contains the perfect amount for small dog breeds, so no large can needs to be stored in the fridge for days. Our mini dry food comes in practical, smaller bags than usual - for more freshness in the bowl.
