5 New Dog Breeds
Most of our →popular dog breeds have been around for many years. A large part of them was bred for a specific purpose, such as hunting. Today, our four-legged friends often have to adapt to our daily lives and live with us as family dogs.
Out of the desire to create a perfect four-legged companion for our modern times, new dog breeds have been developed. They are also referred to as designer dogs or hybrid dogs. Five of them stand out in particular:
Labradoodle - Mix of Labrador and Poodle
Size: approx. 60 cm
The best of the lovable →Labrador and the clever Poodle combined in one breed results in the Labradoodle. It is considered to be extremely trainable, friendly, and people-oriented. Labradoodles are often trained as therapy or guide dogs**. However, they also make a wonderful →family dog for beginners.
Goldendoodle - Mix of Golden Retriever and Poodle
Size: Standard up to 70 cm, Miniature approx. 50 cm
When a →Golden Retriever meets a Poodle, the Goldendoodle is born. And this new dog breed is indeed adorable. The playful nature of the Golden Retriever combined with the cleverness of the Poodle results in a great companion that is a lot of fun. The active furry friend enjoys mental stimulation just as much as cuddles.
Schnoodle - Mix of Schnauzer and Poodle
Size: up to 40 cm
Funny name and funny little dog - the Schnoodle is a mix of Schnauzer and Poodle and thus a clever four-legged friend. Like many →Doodle dog breeds, it is also often trained as a therapy dog and approaches its work with great passion. A Schnoodle is not a couch potato. If it is not to be trained, then dog sports or mantrailing are also a great alternative.
Maltipoo - Mix of Maltese and Poodle
Size: 20 to 25 cm
Small dog with a teddy bear look: The →Maltipoo is especially well-known for its cute appearance. However, this new dog breed with sweet button eyes is anything but a cuddly toy and wants to be appropriately engaged. While the four-legged friend enjoys cuddle time, lack of stimulation can lead even the cute teddy dog to develop bad habits.
Puggle - Mix of Pug and Beagle
Size: approx. 35 cm

However, with this exciting mix, no fixed character traits can be identified yet. If the Beagle predominates, the designer dog will have a pronounced hunting instinct.
