The right coat care for short-haired dogs
The advantage that some people hope for with short-haired dog breeds is that they shed less. In reality, however, a short coat is no guarantee that your dog won't shed hair. These dog breeds are often among the →dogs that don't shed, because they have no undercoat. Nevertheless, they can be affected by the →coat change, which is why you should reach for the brush every now and then.
It may also be that the coat of your short-haired darling is not quite as soft and fluffy as that of its long-haired counterparts. For that extra touch, you can support your dog's skin and coat with our →Skin & Coat Oil. In general, however: For a beautiful, shiny coat you should pay attention to a →healthy and balanced diet for your dog.

Special protection in winter
If you don't have an undercoat, you get cold quickly in winter – makes sense. So if you choose a short-haired dog breed, you can't avoid a warm dog coat . If your dog is especially sensitive to the cold, a raincoat can also make sense. The right clothing for your dog replaces the thick fur and →protects in winter not only against wet and cold, but also prevents colds.
It's also important not to chat with your neighbors forever during your walks. If your dog stands around for too long, he'll start to get cold. So make sure to keep him always moving. Depending on the weather, you can also protect the paws with, for example, our →Paw Balm by applying cream and thus protect them from painful cracks caused by ice, road salt, or grit.
